This 145m² Indian sandstone patio in Kent had been in place for over 30 years. Originally laid on a concrete base using the traditional “5 spot” method, it had begun to show signs of failure – a known issue with this outdated technique.
Our team carefully lifted each mixed slab, thoroughly cleaned them, and then relaid them on a solid full mortar bed to ensure long-term stability and performance. The patio was finished with hand-applied weather-struck pointing, offering both durability and a clean, traditional aesthetic. At the client’s request, the slabs were gently jet-washed to retain their aged character and natural patina.
